Maastricht University and IBM explore quantum computing possibilities for Einstein Telescope

The future Einstein Telescope may make use of quantum computers. Maastricht University will investigate the possibilities for this together with computer company IBM.

The university recently entered the IBM Q Network, a community of Fortune 500 companies, academic institutions, startups and national research labs working with IBM to advance quantum computing. The IBM-UM academic collaboration will also focus on addressing the computational needs of the LHCb detector at the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
